Crypto & Blockchain Compliance Services in Croatia
At ABM Global Compliance, we help crypto businesses interpret these regulatory requirements and implement practical compliance frameworks that support authorisation, ongoing supervision, and sustainable growth within Croatia’s evolving crypto-asset market. From 1 July 2026, provision of crypto-asset services subject to the Croatian MiCA framework requires the relevant authorisation and registration with HANFA.
Supporting Crypto-Asset Service Providers Across Croatia's Regulatory Landscape
The Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) provides the core European Union regulatory framework for Crypto-Asset Service Providers (CASPs). In Croatia, the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) has regulatory responsibility for CASPs falling within its competence under the MiCA framework, working alongside the Croatian National Bank (HNB) where relevant to institutions also subject to prudential banking supervision.
Croatia has moved beyond MiCA’s national transitional period. From 1 July 2026, provision of crypto-asset services subject to the Croatian MiCA framework requires the relevant authorisation and registration with HANFA. Crypto businesses must also address other applicable requirements, including the EU Transfer of Funds Regulation (TFR) for crypto-asset transfers, the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
Our Crypto & Blockchain Compliance Services
Since the conclusion of MiCA’s national transitional arrangements, Crypto-Asset Service Providers must hold the appropriate authorisation from HANFA before providing regulated crypto-asset services in Croatia. Firms are expected to maintain sound governance, effective internal controls, appropriate financial resources, operational resilience, and comprehensive AML/CFT frameworks throughout their operations.

Your Questions Answered
Who regulates crypto businesses in Croatia?
HANFA authorises and supervises Cryptoasset Service Providers under MiCA in Croatia, applying the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act, the Transfer of Funds Regulation, and DORA.
Do crypto firms need MiCA authorisation?
Yes. Providing cryptoasset services in Croatia requires CASP authorisation from HANFA covering the relevant service classes; firms registered under the earlier national regime need full MiCA authorisation.
How long does authorisation take in Croatia?
Most Croatian authorisations run several months to a year from submission, plus preparation. Complete, well-evidenced applications with credible governance move through review meaningfully faster.
Do you support firms after authorisation?
Yes. Most of our work is ongoing: compliance monitoring, regulatory change management, policy updates, reporting support, independent reviews, and training throughout the supervisory relationship.
Are your services advisory only?
Yes, deliberately. ABM Global Compliance never operates regulated businesses or holds client funds. We build, strengthen, and review your compliance arrangements while you remain the regulated operator.
